That is a really good question. I have about a half-dozen DVD players of variable price. Some come with built in screens. Some require that I hook them to a monitor. I have found that with DVD players, cheap is better for me. Most of my players require I "switch" settings in the menu to view PAL video. In truth, I think "newer" has a lot to do with it. Newer players just seem to work better. I have been talking with a friend in Europe in the Stock Footage forum of the Archive and I find I have many misconceptions about PAL Video. On the bright side, It seems like it is getting easier to watch a PAL video here in the states (and vice versa). Let me know if you figure it out. The more I learn on the subject, the more confused I feel.
